PURPOSE: To make the Freshmen Council the First Year Committee, which will increase prestige and allow for more students to participate.

 

WHEREAS, The MSA Freshmen Council was created during the summer of 2018; AND

 

WHEREAS, The Council has allowed for freshmen students to build leadership skills and learn about MSA; AND

 

WHEREAS, The Council should allow for more voices and not be limited to only freshmen students at Mizzou, but rather include the perspective of transfer students and all first year students at Mizzou; AND

 

WHEREAS, A Committee would allow for anyone at Mizzou to come to the meetings and voice concerns, allows for the voting members of the Committee to be actively involved in the legislative process, and would still allow for leadership development.

 

THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE MISSOURI STUDENTS ASSOCIATION THAT Chapter II of the Missouri Students Association Bylaws be amended to read as follows.
